Know your municipality

This book is about governance at our municipalities. Local Government is the most important sphere of the government in South Africa where the national policies and laws are implemented on the ground level within the municipalities.

It is aimed at the public and private sector stakeholders, who need a complete, yet concise, reference source to South African municipalities.

It unpacks the roles and responsibilities of municipal officials, Councillors and the local community in the governance of their own municipality.

It is also intended to assist all those who take an interest in the challenges and the success of their local municipalities.

Public Finance Law

This book is about legal compliance and application of public finance law.

It analyses some of the crucial cases in which the Constitutional Court considered compliance and application of public finance laws and regulations.

The few cases described in this book show how public servants must comply with the law and provide a clear message to those who wield public authority to understand that they have the moral and constitutional obligation to comply with the provisions of the law.
